What these numbers mean
Download affects streaming and page loads. Upload affects video calls and backups. Ping and jitter affect responsiveness and call stability.
VPN note
VPNs can reduce speed and increase latency depending on distance and server load. Test at least 2–3 times, including with VPN on/off, to compare realistically.
Quick troubleshooting if speed is poor
Switch VPN server to one closer to your location.
Try WireGuard protocol if available.
Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi or ethernet.
Retest after pausing large downloads/cloud sync.
How this tool works
This test estimates your connection quality using download, upload, ping, and jitter. Results can vary based on Wi‑Fi quality, VPN routing, local congestion, and the time of day, so repeat tests matter more than any single run.
How to use results well
Run at least 2–3 tests before drawing conclusions.
Compare VPN on vs off if privacy tools are part of your setup.
Look at ping and jitter, not just download speed, for gaming and calls.
